Privacy
This notice explains what happens when you visit Worth the Build and how optional analytics will be handled.
Who runs this site
Worth the Build is Chris Binion’s independent field journal. For privacy questions, email [email protected].
Site delivery and basic data
The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. To deliver and protect the site, Cloudflare may process technical information about a visit, such as your IP address, requested pages, time of access, browser and device information, and security or performance signals. Cloudflare can also provide basic traffic metrics from the requests it serves. This processing can occur even when you do not choose optional analytics.
The site’s stylesheet also requests fonts from Google Fonts. That request can expose technical connection information, including your IP address and browser information, to Google. If those fonts are unavailable, the site uses local fallback fonts.
Optional analytics
Google Analytics 4 is planned through Cloudflare Zaraz to understand aggregate use of the site, such as page views and general interaction patterns. It is currently disabled while the configuration and consent flow are checked. Worth the Build will not activate it until visitors can choose to accept or reject it before tracking starts and can withdraw consent later through an accessible privacy control.
If activated with your consent, Cloudflare Zaraz and Google may process visit and interaction data, including page addresses, device and browser details, approximate location derived from network information, and online identifiers. We do not claim that IP addresses are anonymized. Declining optional analytics will not prevent you from reading the site.
Your choice and withdrawal
There is no optional analytics running on this release, so there is no analytics choice to save yet. The footer has an Analytics preferences button. While the Zaraz consent service is unavailable, it cannot save or withdraw a choice. After the consent setup is configured and verified, the button will open the choice dialog, where you can accept, reject, or change a choice. Optional analytics must remain disabled until that full flow is verified. You can also email [email protected] with questions about your information or a previous choice.
Messages and other sites
If you email us, your email address and the contents of your message are processed by your email provider and ours so we can receive and respond. This site has no contact form or account. Links to other websites are governed by those sites’ own privacy practices.
Changes to this notice
We will update this page when the site’s data practices change, including when optional analytics and its consent controls are active. If you have a question about how long a provider keeps information or want to request access or deletion, contact [email protected].
