Useful starts with honest.
I’m Chris Binion. I build with technology because I’m interested in what it can help people actually do.
Worth the Build is my field journal for ideas that make it into real work. I’m interested in AI, software, systems, and the decisions that turn a promising concept into something worth using. I also care about the moments when an idea fails, changes shape, or turns out to solve a different problem.
There is no shortage of impressive demos. There is less room given to the ordinary, harder questions: What was the need? How did the tool fit into a day? What did it get wrong? What would I do differently next time? Those are the questions this site is built around.

Builds follows projects with their stage made clear. Notes
I’ll describe my own work without turning private information into content. A public lesson does not require a private record, a family detail, or a confidential workplace example.
Show what was built. Explain how it was used. Share what was learned.
This is an independent publication. It begins small, with one active build and an opening essay. As there is more to show, the journal can grow on the strength of real work.
